Once upon a time, on Solstice day, an artisan of the great Mayan empire decided he was done working on his calendar, and went home to his wife and children to celebrate, thereby creating the great apocalypse panic of 2012.

Today is the solstice, and like every solstice, winter and summer, it is a beginning and an ending. Today is the end of autumn in the north, and the beginning of winter. It is the end of spring in the south and the beginning of summer.
